A petition was sent yesterday (Monday July 6th,2020)  to the Prime Minister, signed by a thousand youths from all parts of the Land,

with the call to apply sovereignty and prevent the founding of a Palestinian state.

In the past few days, more than a thousand youths from all parts of the Land have signed a petition calling on the Prime Minister to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria without recognizing a Palestinian state.

The petition signing campaign was organized by members of the Sovereignty Youth Movement, and was carried out last week at more than thirty hasbara booths  scattered throughout the Land. At the booths, the youths held meetings and discussions and distributed hasbara materials on the importance of sovereignty as a national goal to realize the Zionist vision as well as on the dangers of a Palestinian state to the existence and security of the State of Israel.

Eliahu Friedman, the initiator of the booth campaign, says that the sense of mission and determination is what brings dozens of youths, both young men and young women, to act to inculcate the importance of sovereignty, especially during this period when the matter has become the hottest issue on the political agenda for the State of Israel. “The subject of sovereignty is extremely urgent for the youth”, he says. “We believe that as youths, the generation of the future, it is important for our voice to be heard, and that it is our duty to make ourselves heard”.

Here is the wording of the petition signed by the youths that was sent this morning to the Prime Minister: “We, the undersigned, call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of Knesset to arm themselves with courage and take the historic step: to apply full sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel  and prevent the founding of a Palestinian state. We youths have already been active for two years in promoting the vision of sovereignty that began with our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”.

Tehila Hadad, one of the heads of the youth branch in the Sovereignty Movement, tells of the youth branch’s activity behind the initiative: “The youth branch has been acting on behalf of this extremely important goal, the application of sovereignty, for two years. The youth sets up booths for face-to-face interaction in key cities, produces and distributes hasbara videos and holds annual seminars and conferences that turn every young man or young woman participant into an ambassador of sovereignty. In the seminars, we hear lectures on practical programs and on the importance of sovereignty for the future for us all. In these meetings, we gain knowledge that we can use in our hasbara campaigns”.

The co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, see the increasing involvement of the youths in hasbara initiatives as evidence of how the youth see their role in the chain of Zionism. “These days we no longer drain the swamps as the founding pioneers did , today we aim to drain the idea of two states  and withdrawals, and the youth does this with devotion and a true pioneering spirit. We have no doubt that from this generation of young activists who take initiative and act with creativity and in contemporary style, will emerge the next generation of leadership in Israel”.
