Updates from Oz veGaon and the Walk around the walls for the evening of the 9th of Av

Today, Tuesday, at 5:30pm, there will be an activity for children with Hadas Wallberg at Oz veGaon – Stories of King David. Bring the kids and the grandchildren. Prepare a picnic and have a great afternoon in this meaningful place.
This coming Friday at Oz veGaon, the 8th of Av, July 24th, at 9:00 AM, we will mark a decade since the Expulsion from Gush Katif and northern Samaria with a showing of the film by Benni Gal, “The Glow of Heavens”.
“The Glow of Heavens” is an Israeli film from 2012 that deals with the Expulsion from the point of view of a new recruit in the Air Force. It was produced by the Institute for Zionist Strategy and the Torat Haim Production House and directed by Eliahu Binyamin. The film won second place in the category of fictional films in the Cinema South International Film Festival, in the Spring of 2012. This is the first full-length fictional film to deal with the Expulsion.
Adam Koren (Raz Zaltzerman) is a top cadet in the pilots’ flight training course. Towards the end of his flight course, the IDF begins training to carry out the Expulsion plan. Koren is torn between his commitment to take part in the training to carry out the task (otherwise he would be thrown out of the course) and his objection to carrying out this task. Koren’s grandfather (Yossi Nahmias) sees the Expulsion of Neve Dekalim on television and has a heart attack.
The film is in Hebrew with English subtitles.
