Friday in Oz veGaon with the poet Eliaz Cohen

This coming Friday July 31st , Tu BeAv, at 9:00 am we will hear in Oz veGaon the poet Eliaz Cohen about “Songs and love in Eretz Yisrael”.

Eliaz Cohen, born in 1972, is a poet, editor and social worker. Member of the Kfar Etzyon kibbutz.

He is named after his uncle Eliezer who fell in battle. Eliaz was born in Petah Tikva, grew up in Elkana in the Shomron and served in the army in the tanks. Graduted the yeshiva of Bnei Akiva in Kfar Haroe and yeshivat Or Etzion. He was one of the pupils of Rabbi Moshe Zvi Nerya. When becoming a writer he got close to famous authors like Moshe Shamir, Yehuda Amichai, Natan Yonatn, Dalia Ravikovitch and others.

Since the mid-nineties Cohen is the editor of a Jewish-Israeli poetry, “Mashiv HaRuach”, and publishes original works, criticism and opinion pieces in journals and daily newspapers. Cohen is a member of the team at the Greenberg heritage center in Jerusalem, directed by Geula Cohen.
