PRESS RELEASE:

As part of Women in Green’s campaign for sovereignty, posters are being hung in the intersections and main arteries in Judea and Samaria with the motto ‘The Time has Come for Sovereignty’. This call also resounded when the president of the state visited Gush Etzion Junction.

In light of the continuing wave of terror, Women in Green is now increasing its campaign for sovereignty that the movement has been conducting in recent years.

In the hitchhiking stations and junctions of Judea and Samaria on road 60 , the movement’s activists have hung signs with the motto: “The Time has Come for Sovereignty”. The leaders of the movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, state that the answer to terror, from the point of view of security as well as policy, must include the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

The application of sovereignty will make clear to all of the terrorists and their supporters that we are staying right here, forever, and it will destroy any hopes of dislodging us from our Land and establishing a Palestinian state here. It is not despair that motivates the terrorists, but hope. The hope of establishing a Palestinian state is the driving force behind the terror attacks and destroying this hope will yield immediate results in the area of security”, say Katsover and Matar, who stress that “sovereignty must be applied regardless of terror attacks. Sovereignty is not intended as a punishment for the Arab people but it is the right of the Jewish People. But now, the security factor is another reason to demand sovereignty”.

The two women say that during the visit two days ago of President of the State Reuven Rivlin at the Gush Etzion Junction, they approached him together with MK Shuli Mualem-Refaeli and gave him a sticker calling for sovereignty. “Mr. President, the time has come for sovereignty”, they told him, and in response, the president said that they must understand that “sovereignty also means granting rights to all”. They then answered him, “Not only rights-rights and obligations”.

It should be noted that after MK Mualem decided to locate her office in Gush Etzion, following the murder of Hadar Buchris, hy”d, the MK repeats the call to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, among other things as an answer to terror, but primarily, as part of the Jewish People’s historical right and moral obligation.
