The trees in Netzer are in danger of being uprooted!
Dear Friends,
below is a letter, signed by rabbi Gideon Perl, regional Rabbi of Gush Etzion, that is being sent on this eve of the holiday of Shavuot to all residents of Gush Etzion in reaction to the information we received last night that the Civil Administration plans, after Shavuot, on uprooting all hundreds of Jewish plantings that have been planted by Jews in Netzer for the past few years; plantings that have as a purpose to prevent the Arab take-over of lands.
The holiday of Shavuot symbolizes more than any other holiday the connection between the G-d of Israel, the People of Israel, the Torah of Israel and the Land of Israel.
In the Land of Israel trees have to be planted-not uprooted. Houses have to be built-not destroyed.
Our reaction to the decree is…. continued planting!
We call upon all to join us for plantings in Netzer
on Monday Isru Chag Shavuot, 28/5 at 6:30pm .
Meet at the pergola at bottom of the hill.
