Mordechai Aharoni, obm
A man young in spirit, age had no meaning for him, he went up to Eitam with the enthusiasm of youth.
Adverse weather did not deter him, not the freezing cold or fierce winds
And not the scorching sun. His soul was full of love for the Land of Israel.
He documented and photographed the Land, and testified in courts of law with great wisdom, resourcefully and courageously,
Without fear of Arabs and leftists; actually, he feared no one.
We all owe Givat HaEitam to Mordechai Aharoni, to his most remarkable memory.
He was 17 when he witnessed the purchasing of Givat Eitam. It is by virtue of this fact that Eitam is ours.
Mordechai’s testimony in the court won for Efrat one of the most beautiful and historic hills to continue the development and building of the community.
He won people’s hearts with his sense of humor. His was always in good spirits.
Always ready to help. He always told us: Ask and I will find it for you.
We did not have enough time to request everything and receive all of the immense knowledge that he had access to regarding the Land.
We did not hurry – because in our eyes Mordechai was forever young. This is how we will remember him always.
To the family of our dear friend Mordechai obm- children, grandchildren and great grandchildren- may you be comforted in the building of Erets Israel
