                         Beilin’s Duplicity

The Justice Minister, Yossi Beilin, met with the heads of the
Council of Jewish Communiities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.  According to
reports in the media he expressed his identification as an ally with the
settlers.  He announced categorically he was vigorously opposed to the
uprooting of settlements.  (HaTzofeh, February 11, 2000.)  The heads of
the aforesaid Council were reported as pleased with such expression of
opposition by Beilin.  Indeed, posters quoting Beilin about such
opposition have been put up in and around Jerusalem.

Let no one think for one moment that they have a new ally in the
Justice Minister. Yossi Beilin has only one true ally and he is the
arch murderer Arafat.  Actually, Beilin, as usual, is being deceitful.
He is hiding from us his true objective, which is the establishment of a
Palestinian state in all of Judea, Samaria and Gaza.  Isn’t he then
being inconsistent to this objective by coming out against the uprooting
of settlements?

Not at all.  Beilin’s plan is both wicked and cunning.  As one
of the architects of Oslo, he understands that in the year 2000, it is
not possible to conduct an actual transfer of Jews.  The forcible
loading of Jews on buses is too reminiscent of the horrors of the
Holocaust era.  Moreover, America is not prepared to put up the funds to
compensate 200,000 settler refugees, (as they did for the small number
involved in Yamit).  Therefore, the Oslo Accords were invented.  Parts
of Eretz Yisrael would be given over to the murderer Arafat in stages.  The
regions close to the settlements would be slowly given over, so that at
the end, the  settlements would become isolated, and surrounded by a
hostile sea of Arab terror.

The ultimate aim of the Beilin plan is abundantly clear.  The
daily life of the settlers is to become a terrible hell.  It is Beilin’s
hope that the majority of the settlers and their families will refuse to
continue to live in this manner, and will “leave of their own free
will.”  And, of course, they will be helped along, as allegedly Shimon
Peres callously predicted, by “an Arab pogrom or two” against any
isolated settlement.  Thus, the ethnic cleansing of Jews in Judea,
Samaria and Gaza  will be neatly acomplished – cheaply, rapidly and
efficiently.

This despicable plan is already in high gear.  Most of the
territories around the settlements have already been given over to the
PLO Authority.  Just a few days ago the Barak Government informed us
that it was cutting back on the security of the settlers.  Ambulances
have ceased to operate in several essential areas; IDF soldiers, we are
told, will no longer guard the settlements.  The building of by-pass
roads, which is important for the security of the settlers, has
virtually ceased. Thus when an attack will be mounted against isolated
settlements, the settlers will have to survive without ambulances,
without the IDF, without suitable weaponry, and without adequate escape
routes.

We must expose the immoral machinations of Beilin without
delay.  It is within our power  to unite and work together to
immediately bring down the Barak Government.  We can not leave it up to
the eventual commission of inquiry to ascertain who, along with
Beilin, was responsible for the “crimes of Oslo against our People.”  We
cannot allow Beilin at some future date to deceive such a commission by
the fraudulent claim that, after all, it was he who was opposed to “the
uprooting of settlements.”

                      Israel as a Banana Republic

Dear Friends of Women In Green,

Below is the fax we sent to every member of the United States Congress and
the Knesset.

The age of the banana republic has descended upon little Israel.  Clinton,
the American giant, has taken off his gloves and has dropped all pretenses.
The People of Israel are not to be allowed to decide their own future.
The Clinton-Carville team knows best. It is to get out the Arab vote to
make sure the Golan will be given to the tyrant Assad. The temporary peace
of the tyrants will be purchased cheaply at the expense of a tiny,
dwindling Israel.

The following is a news report published in one of Israel’s major Hebrew
newspapers.

YEDIOT AHARONOT
Israel’s Largest Daily: Friday, February 11, ?2000

Faiz Abas

Senior officials of the United States Embassy in Israel are meeting
with officials of the Israeli Arab community in an attempt to increase the
involvement of the Arab public in the referendum on the peace agreement
with Syria.

In the last few days American representatives have met with senior
officials in the Arab community. Among others, they met with the chairman
of the Israel Arab Authority, Muhammad Zidon.

In the words of one of the senior officials who met with the Americans:
“The Embassy is worried by opinion polls that Israeli Arabs do not plan to
participate in substantial numbers in the upcoming referendum.” Another
Arab official explained: “Embassy personnel with whom I spoke expressed
concern that there would be serious damage to the peace process if the
government doesn’t get a majority in the referendum. The Americans believe
that Israeli Arabs can tip the balance in favor of a peace settlement – on
condition that a high proportion of them participate in the vote.”

One of the public officials said that a number of Arab organizations
asked the Americans for financial support to underwrite a massive
propaganda effort. “The Embassy people investigated the financial
requirements, and promised to give their financial support.”

An Embassy spokesman: “The activities of the Embassy personnel were
normal. They involved meetings and talks with citizens, as all embassies in
the world do.”

Eli Joseph — Hunger Strike for Jonathan Pollard

Dear Friends,

We received the following from:

“Yesha Communities Bulletin Board”

Subject:  Eli Joseph
Please call Eli Joseph and offer words of encouragement to give him the
strength to continue his efforts on behalf of Jonathan Pollard. Even if
his cellular telephone is turned off, a message on his voice mail would go
a long way.  054-402-308

(IsraelWire-2/13) Eli Joseph, 43, on Sunday completed day 35 of his hunger
strike opposite the Knesset on behalf of Jonathan Pollard. Joseph plans to
remain there for another 20 days, after which to move to the White House
in Washington, where he will continue his strike.

Joseph, the father of two and resident of Maale Adumim, is a former
activist affiliated with the Betar Zionist organization in the UK. He is
unable to understand how the government of Israel has abandoned Pollard
who was acting as an agent of the state and feels obligated to do his
utmost to assist Pollard in obtaining his release from a US prison
facility.

When asked how it was that he was staging a hunger strike for over a
month and it has not been reported in the local media, Joseph stated that
he has contacted the mainstream press repeatedly but they told him they
were uninterested in his story.

I spoke with him this morning (Tuesday) and the few calls that he has
received to date have been most appreciated. Also important to pass this
on to other news agencies and try to get this into the international
secular and Jewish media.

UPROOTING OF SETTLEMENTS —  OVER OUR DEAD BODIES!!!

This morning, on Galei Zahal radio (Army Radio), they announced the new
settlement map that has been drawn by the Ministry of Defense.
According to that map, in the final status, 21 settlements will be
evacuated and another 16 are a question mark.

Following this announcement, the Women in Green declare:

The plan to steal Eretz Yisrael from the hands of Am Yisrael will
not succeed!

We will bitterly fight against the uprooting of Jews from their homes
in Eretz Yisrael!

Uprooting Jews is a crime against the Jewish People and is a betrayal
of our homeland!

Obeying the order to uproot a settlement is obeying an illegal order!

Am Yisrael will not betray its homeland!

The uprooting of settlements – over our dead bodies!!

Carmela Menasheh and the Israeli Media

Over the past few weeks the Israeli media has given large publicity
to the defeatist “Four mothers” organization (which is demanding that
Israel get out of Lebanon now), without mentioning that they represent
a tiny minority here in Israel.

Their defeatist message and approach has been spread mainly by
Carmela Menasheh, the “Kol Yisrael” army correspondent and Shelly
Yahimovitz, one of Kol Yisrael’s most popular radio hosts.

Women in Green have launched a campaign to expose Carmela Menasheh
and urge the public to show their discontent with her coverage that
only demoralizes our soldiers and encourages our enemy.

The following is a translation of part of Nadia’s weekly show on
Arutz 7, February 24, 2000.

The Women In Green’s Campaign in Defense of the IDF and against Kol
 Yisrael Reporter, Carmela Menasheh

In recent weeks the morning news program of Kol Israel has broadcast
internal information from within the IDF “that came to the knowledge
of our military reporter Carmela Menasheh,” as the news program
editor Aryeh Golan proclaims. We have become accustomed in recent
years that the leaks from the army go beyond gossip and power
struggles before the selection of a new Chief of Staff or
before a new round of appointments among the General Staff officers.
The fact that the censor or the IDF Spokesman permit this exposure by
means of the radio and the all-knowing reporter apparently stems from
fear of the media, which consists entirely of exposure, revelations,
and talk about whatever should be hidden from sight and
hearing. The desire for ratings is linked with an extreme leftist
worldview, which sees the enemy as a friend and a partner for peace.
Accordingly, efforts are being made to weaken the IDF, because “there
is no military solution to the situation,” as Chief of Staff during the
intifada, Dan Shomron, declared at the time. This defeatist attitude
gave birth to Oslo and its terrible consequences.

Last week Carmela Menasheh (with Shelly Yachimovitz) attacked Golani
brigade commander Shmuel Zakkai. A closed military briefing became
the common knowledge of all the listeners. Someone told her
what was said there – and everyone, including the Hizballah, heard
how Samson’s locks are being shorn. The media dared to intervene in
the considerations of the army, and demanded that the brigade
commander be fired because he spoke to the soldiers in blunt fashion
regarding the two “distinguished” radio correspondents.

This week, Carmela Menasheh revealed another closed document, this
time from the Chief Education Officer to IDF commanders. She was not
happy with its contents because it infused the soldiers with a fighting
spirit, fought against her defeatist attitude, and condemned soldiers’
running to the media and complaining. Once again, a media trial was held
against an IDF officer. At the height of the well-planned media
ambush, Brigadier-General Stern was “interrogated,” by Shelly
Yachimovitz, and immediately after the interview with
Stern, a bereaved mother from the “Four Mothers” was put on the air.

The snowball began rolling from Carmela Menasheh’s command post.
There is not enough room to describe the security damage she causes.
It is obvious that there is cooperation by senior elements
within the army enabling her to infiltrate into every concealed
corner and to broadcast as she sees fit. Thus, bypassing the censor,
she broadcasts interviews with soldiers in outposts in Lebanon.
According to the report, there were no soldiers there who are sure of
themselves and of our victory. Everything is exposed and naked before
the enemy. And as Carmela said to Mekor Rishon: “I am not
responsible for the morale of the army. This is of no concern to me.”

But our soldiers’ morale is of great concern to us, so that we do not
end up with the likes of Shelly Yachimovitz and Carmela Menasheh at the
 head of the nation’s forces.

Anyone to whom Israel’s security is precious, can call Carmela Menasheh
and explain this to her: 050-209887, and call Kol Yisrael and demand
 that she be fired: (03)694-4777.

                Eitan Haber

The following letter was sent by Nadia to the
Jerusalem Post in reaction to Eitan Haber’s article
“The Israeli Beas.t”
(Eitan Haber was Yitzhak Rabin’s media adviser).
To The Jerusalem Post
Letters to the Editor
February 27, 2000

Sir,

It is sad to see how Eitan Haber tries to rationalize and “understand”
why the intellectual elite in the Arab countries and among the
Palestinians are so opposed to peace with Israel. (The Israeli Beast,
27/2/00).

According to Haber, it is we, the Jews, who are once again at fault.
The Arab intellectuals hate us because our technology is more
developed, we are richer than they are(our annual GDP is ten times
higher than theirs) and we even have the hutzpa to be proud of our
accomplishments. “Our demonic, monstrous image in Arab countries,
which we have helped create (!!!), prevents almost any dialogue”
writes Haber. ‘The educated Arab classes see us, to this day, as the
monster that is going to swallow them alive” he continues.

Haber represents the typical Israeli leftist who cannot get rid  of
his galut-mentality. Instead of blaming the enemy for their vitriolic,
antisemitic hatred, he must blame himself and his fellow-Jews.
Whether it is the settlers, the high GDP, the fact that we dared win
all the wars of annihilation against us, it is always our fault. In
Europe the Communist Jew blamed the Capitalist Jew for the
persecution, the German Jew blamed the Oost-Jew, etc.

Let Eitan Haber be assured: the Arabs hate us also when we are poor
and weak. The pogroms against the Jews in the Land of Israel before
the creation of the state, the massacre of 69 Jews of Hevron in 1939,
were all done when our technology was not yet developed and there was
no GDP to speak of.

It is time for Haber and his leftist friends to understand that the
Arabs hate and kill us simply because we are Jews.  Whether we are poor
or rich, weak or strong, within the ’67 borders or beyond them, does
not make one bit of difference. The Arabs still consider the Jewish
State — whatever its borders — as a cancer in their midst and will
use any  tactic (war or peace talks) to achieve their goal: our
destruction.

By blaming the Jews, Haber is playing into the Arabs’ hands and
weakens the Israeli side. The time has come to wake up and realize we
will never achieve the kind of peace that we find between Canada and
the US.  The best we can hope for is a situation of non-belligerency,
that will only be achieved if our Arab neighbors fear and respect us.

For that we need our leaders to talk, not like Eitan Haber, but like
David Levy this past week in the Knesset. That is the only language
the Arabs understand, respect and fear.
