1) This coming Friday, the 6th of Tevet, December 18th at 9:00 in the morning, in Oz veGaon, we will, please G-d, hear Dr. Martin Sherman on the subject: “Israel as the Nation-state of the Jews – Essential Imperatives for Survival”.
Dr. Martin Sherman, who does research on issues of security and public diplomacy, has degrees in Physics, Geology, Business Administration and Political Science. After seven years of service in the Israeli intelligence community he became part of the academic scene both in Israel and in the US and has published research on subjects related to the war on terror and the entire scope of topics concerning the State of Israel’s security.
By virtue of his expertise, he has been invited to testify before US congressional committees in discussions on subjects dealing with the economy and security issues of the Middle East. In recent years he has published many scholarly books and articles in the world’s highly respected journals. He also writes a weekly column in the Jerusalem Post.
Dr. Martin Sherman is often invited to take part in television and radio programs in Israel and the US to present his opinions. “Without minimizing the Iranian threat, in my opinion, the greatest threat to the State of Israel today is its increasing delegitimization in the world”, says Dr. Martin Sherman. According to him, while the Iranian threat is within the realm of physical threats, which can be answered by striking a counter-blow, the threat of delegitimization is intended to negate the validity of the State of Israel and the very essence of the concept of Zionism.
