Friday in Shdema with Sara Barnea on Trumpeldor
In honor of the 11th of Adar, the day on which the Hashomer people were attacked by Arabs in Tel Hay (March 1st 1920) and six Jews were killed, among them Joseph Trumpeldor,
We will gather in Shdema this coming Friday February 22nd at 9:00 am to hear a fascinating lecture (in Hebrew) accompanied by a slideshow by Sar Barnea- Erets Israel lecturer.
From Trumpeldors writings:
We need to build a generation, without interests but rather with all that is needed for the national interest. Missing a wheel? I am the wheel. Missing a nail, a screw? Take me. Need to dig soil? I dig. You need a soldier? I’m the soldier . The police? doctor? lawyers? teachers? drawers of water?, please, I do it all. I have no face, no psychology, no feelings,I do not even have a name: I am the pure idea of service for the nation, ready for all, I am not tied up; I know only one commandment: to build! ”
After the lecture in Shdema, the Jerusalem participants will drive to the Jewish house in Abu Tor that has been suffering from Arab attacks (molotov cocktails, grenades and more) to give the six families there mishloach manot. The cars with the Gush Etzion-Kiryat Arab people will only join also, if all the people on the car agree.
Shdema is a military base between Har Homa and Tekoa, and is accessible by private car.
