This coming Friday at Oz veGaon, on Rosh Hodesh Av, August 5, at 9:00 in the morning, we will host our dear friend Datya Yitzhaki, former spokeswoman for Gush Katif and resident of Kfar Yam, may it soon be rebuilt.
The gathering with Datya includes a showing of the BBC film “The Last Stand” and her personal story.
The film follows the story of Gush Katif during the year and a half before the uprooting, combined with the story of the Yitzhaki family of Kfar Yam, who were among the leading activists against the expulsion.
The gathering includes a 40 minute showing of the film followed by a discussion on topics such as the boundaries of democracy, crimes against humanity or civil war, the children’s place in the battle for the Land of Israel, whether it would have been possible to stop the expulsion etc.
A poignant morning that none of us will want to miss.
