Edelstein: Application of Sovereignty will Promote Peace

Knesset Speaker at Oz veGaon, Gush Etzion Junction: the application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria will promote peace and clarity within the complex reality of our region.

His visit at the location took place as part of the dedication of the new shopping center that opened at Gush Etzion Junction, as he was accompanied by Head of Council Davidi Perl and his deputy, Moshe Savile.

During the visit, the Speaker of the Knesset expressed his appreciation for the activity of the volunteers related to the opening and refurbishing of the Oz veGaon preserve, which was established in memory of the three abducted youths, Hy”d. He also expressed his hope for the success of the political and diplomatic steps that occurred recently regarding the application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

“I very much hope that the places where we have holdings will remain forever under our sovereignty”, said Edelstein, and added: “I think that the official and orderly application of sovereignty is something that will only promote peace and clarity in our complex region”.

As mentioned, Edelstein expressed his support for the recent steps that have been taken in the Knesset a08c5ed2-5b75-431f-bae8-ab9ac19b2838toward the gradual application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. “I think that it is appropriate to take steps in the Knesset”, he said and immediately added: “We have actually begun to take steps in the Knesset regarding the places that are within the very broad consensus in the State of Israel, so that there will be a very clear statement of the Israeli legislative body that they will forever be an integral part of the State of Israel “.

Regarding the holding in the Oz veGaon Nature Preserve, the Knesset Speaker said: “I am happy to be here at Oz veGaon. I remember the location as a desolate place that was threatened with evacuation, and today, when you come and see all the development and cultivation and hear that tens of thousands of youths come to volunteer, have an experience, helping and remembering the three sons, I think that it simply does the heart good”.

Edelstein ended with words of appreciation and gratitude “to all of the organizers and volunteers who are here, not to receive any prize and who do all of the activity here”.
