With the Almighty’s help, a new year is starting, with its blessings and its activities.

Left and right talk about Sovereignty:

In recent weeks we have seen again that the issue of sovereignty has become imbedded not only in the discourse of the Israeli Right. The Left also is conducting internal discussions about the vision of sovereignty, and to us, even when they attack the idea and the promotion of the idea, this is just another proof that the vision of sovereignty has a strong position on the political agenda and that it takes a leading part in the political-diplomatic discourse in Israel.

Haarets newspaper: “You lost. You won”

And on that subject, a controversy was aroused recently by the Haaretz newspaper. The editor of the newspaper’s supplement, Uri Marek, published a very long article entitled “You lost”, in which he tried to prove that the Right and its vision have lost, but every line in the article contributes to the clear conclusion: The Right has won up to this point and will continue to win in the future.

This conclusion is reinforced by the flag-bearer of the radical Left in the Israeli press, journalist Gideon Levy, who published an article (also in Haaretz) in which he appeals to his friends on the Left to open their eyes and internalize that in the battle against the Right “The settlers have won, we have lost”, as the article’s title is worded.

We continue and increase our activities

With your help and assistance, our movement, the Sovereignty Movement founded by Women in Green, does not rest for a moment, and lately we have gone into high gear with additional activities to internalize the vision of sovereignty.

We have participated in several events toasting the New Year in which there were ministers, MKs and other prominent public figures. We came with members of the movement who carried banners, fliers and stickers calling for the application of sovereignty and we saw, with much joy and satisfaction, that in all of the events the subject of sovereignty was the top priority and was raised by every speaker.

We take this opportunity to send special thanks to our wonderful Renee Margolis, who brought members of the movement to the various events, thus helping to make the vision of sovereignty an active and prominent presence in many places. This is how to create a revolution. Presence creates an atmosphere that has an influence on decision makers to act in the correct manner.

Moving on from words to deeds

There is no doubt that we feel an encouraging tailwind from all of those declarations and expressions of commitment by diplomats and politicians to the vision of sovereignty, but we must turn those headlines into deeds, and this is why we continue with accelerated activity during the coming year as well, coming from below, from the Israeli street, we will lead the revolution to the top, to the government desks, where diplomatic and practical decisions in this spirit will be made.

Rumors about a confederation with Jordan

These days, as the political discourse is arising on the Left (this too, probably, was influenced by their concern about the increasing nationalist coalescence on the vision of sovereignty), when there are rumors of an American-backed Jordanian confederation, we must remember that even if, until this point, President Donald Trump has acted in favor of the State of Israel and the Jewish People, we must keep our guard up and judge each step carefully.

The American bear hug could turn out to be dangerous to Israeli policy no less than the Obama period choke-hold. We must not depend on the usual Arab rejectionism, but continue to press the political system to implement the vision of Israeli sovereignty.

We will not accept any foreign sovereignty on the western side of the Jordan River. Not the Palestinian Authority. Not Jordan and not any other entity. The State of Israel must be the only sovereign over the entire Land of Israel.

The Sovereignty Youth movement is growing

Before closing our letter, we will relate to you, with joy and satisfaction, the increased activity of Sovereignty Youth in recent months:

Youths full of energy, idealism and Zionism from all parts of the Land are setting up hasbara booths in dozens of central points in cities, traffic intersections and key positions. The responses to their activities are enthusiastic and encouraging.

During the summer vacation the Sovereignty Youth coordinators held a unique seminar that we arranged for them at Oz veGaon. For two days the youths heard about various aspects of the vision of sovereignty, about ways to implement it, the challenges and possible solutions. Leading lecturers from various academic fields, entrepreneurs and even experts in public speaking gave lectures to the youths and we keep in touch with them to hear about the many activities that they are taking part in these days.

This letter has photo attachments from the various events this past week:

• Members of World Likud came to the Oz veGaon preserve and were photographed with signs saying “The Likud supports Sovereignty”.
• At the evening organized at Metsudat Ze’ev by Forum Dror of the Likud, all of the speakers spoke about the application of sovereignty, and especially MK Miki Zohar.
• At Ohr Yehuda, we were present at an event led by former minister Gideon Saar and in his speech as well, sovereignty was the main message.
• In the context of a tour by the Land of Israel Lobby in Gush Etzion, which was organized by the tireless Orit Struk, Minister Gila Gamliel spoke at Oz veGaon, highlighting the decision by the Likud to progress on the road to sovereignty as its policy, as is demonstrated both in the Likud’s covenant and in the unanimous decision of the Likud Central Committee.
• Thousands of posters were hung by us all over wishing the People  of Israel “A year of Sovereignty”.
