Building in Adurayim!!
Tens of Jews from the Southern Hebron hills, Gush Etzion, Jerusalem and Kiryat Arba Hevron answered the call by Women in Green and came to the abandoned IDF base Adurayim yesterday on the fast of the 17th of Tammuz to pray and cry on this day of mourning.
We came to cry on the destruction- and lo and behold we saw building!
Upon arriving in Adurayim, shouts of happiness were heard from the participants. Thank G-d the army base is being rebuilt! Jews have officially returned to Adurayim!
The building that the IDF had abandoned a year and a half ago and that the Arabs looted and destroyed, was now surrounded by scaffolding, the walls had been painted, new tiles had been laid on the floor. Tears of happiness streamed down the cheeks of the participants who all had been part of the struggle for a Jewish return to Adurayim.
Tefillat mincha was held, reading of the Torah and a shiur by Rabbi Yehuda Glick in memory of Talya and Yitzhak Imes HY”D who had been with us last year in Adurayim and soon after were murdered by Arab terrorists in a drive-by shooting.
Mixed feelings were felt by the participants: on the one hand one cannot deny the incredible progress, whether in Adurayim or in Israel at large: the Jewish return to the Land of Israel, the building of the State, the ingathering of the exiles, the amazing Tora learning all over Israel…on the other hand we still need to struggle for Jewish sovereignty over Israel’s Biblical Heartland, for a Jewish return to the Temple and a general return to “restore our judges as of old”. Then and only then will we be able to really be happy.
