The story of Shdema:

2006
The IDF abandons the Shdema base, located between Har Homa and Tekoa, in area “C” under Israeli control.

2008
When we found out that the Arabs were trying to take over the location, with the intention of building a neighborhood and a hospital there, we began our mission to rescue Shdema.

2010
After 2 years of action, we marked a partial victory: the IDF returned to Shdema – a “Pillbox” watchtower was erected on site, with soldiers manning it 24/7.

2012
In June we discovered that the IDF does not have a 24/7 presence in Shdema. We decided to resume our activities there.

Present day:
Shdema faces the threat of takeover by the Arabs and the international anarchists once again. The IDF is currently denying them access due to our presence there. If we increase our efforts on the ground, we can achieve our goal – establishing in Shdema a permanent and active cultural center that will connect Jerusalem to Eastern Gush Etzion, preserving this strategically important location.
