and the undercover “Arab” police officers

Popular solidarity displays from all across the country are being organized these days in support of the South Hebron Hills’ residents, following the call of “You are not alone!”. As part of these displays, a car convoy will embark this Friday, heading towards the SHH communities in an attempt to strengthen the resolve of the residents, in light of the serial assaults being committed against them.

This move, in which several organizations have joined forces, is being spearheaded by the “Women in Green” movement. The organizers and initiators, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, view the car convoy as a necessary statement in face of the combined assaults being directed at the local residents by the Arabs, anarchists, European elements, and lately even the Israel Police, as became evident in the “Undercover ‘Arab’ Officers” incident in Susiya.

Partners in this convoy are the Vaad Mityashvei Shomron headed by Benny Katsover, Vaad Mityashvei Binyamin headed by Itzik Shadmi and Komemiyut headed by Yehuda Amrani. Following the sting operation by the police, head of the Shomron residents committee Benny Katsover wrote a strong letter of protest to the police minister Aharonovitch, demanding to evict from the police the officers who had planned the entrapment against Jews of Sussya and warning that such an operation endangered the lives of the policemen.

“We are coming to say to you: You are not alone, pioneering people of the South Hebron Hills. The anarchists and the European elements that have an abundance of funds, who come to you every week in an attempt to evict you from our land, will not triumph”, was written in the message, sent out in preparation for the event.

The organizers view the recent Susiya event (in which the police sent officers disguised as Arabs to invade the communities fields, and when the residents came out to protect their community, they found themselves detained, under the false pretence of “violence”), as the final straw.

“We understand and share the difficult and intolerable emotions involved, when officers of the Israel Police operate against Jews by coming to Susiya dressed as Arabs, and when our young men go out to defend the community, find themselves placed under arrest”, add Katsover and Matar, as they write: “Undercover ‘Arabs’ operating against Jews is a blatant violation of the common grounds upon which we live. These undercover operatives are utilized against enemies”. (below please find a link to the video of the entrapment)

The two women express great repulsion from the use of undercover “Arab” police officers against Jews. “In addition to the attempted delegitimization aimed at the residents, there is a risk to human life. The Israel Police continuously display incompetence against the Bedouins and the Arabs that take over the lands of the South Hebron Hills. They dare not enter the Arab and Bedouin villages. They only know how to act tough against Jews”.

The Binyamin and Samaria Residents’ Committees and Komemiyut have also joined forces for the car convoy event, and according to the organizers a high turnout of participants, who will arrive in private cars, is expected.

Regarding what is to be expected at the event, they share: “In Susiya we will meet Rabbi Eliezer Altsholer in the Rudgub, an expansion neighborhood of Susiya, that suffers repeated harassment from the anarchists and Left-wing activists. The Rabbi will give a brief overview of the situation. From Susiya we will climb up to Mitzpeh Yair. We will meet the residents, who will present the convoy with their unique products of honey, wine and olive oil. Afterwards we will travel to Avigayil and Havat Maon, where we will hear explanations [of the situation] from the local residents”.

The main rendezvous before departing for the South Hebron Hills communities is expected to depart from the Kiryat Arba gas station on Friday, 3 Heshvan 5773, October 19th 2012, at 8:45am. Organized groups will also be departing from Jerusalem, Meytar, Beit Shemesh, Efrat and the Binyamin region.

Link to a video of the entrapment: police dress up like Arabs-enter the boundaries of the Jewish community close to the Dalia Har Sinai farm whose owner Yair HY”D was murdered by Arab shepherds a few years ago–the Jews call the army but the army who is in on the trap claim that they can’t come-the Jews are left with the only option: defend the community by pushing away the Arabs- at that point the “Arabs” divulge that they are police and arrest the Jews
