Halamish update ­ increasing pressure today is vital!

It has become known to us that in the next few days a decision will be made by the president concerning the pardon of the Halamish brothers. Action must be taken in a few ways:

-Pressuring the President’s house

-Raising awareness of the subject in the press

Furthermore, we must encourage the Halamish brothers in prison by writing them letters or depositing money so they can purchase things in the canteen.

The arguments for their release:

From a legal point of view: ­ the distortion of all judicial processes ­ from evidence destroyed by the police, refusing a line-up, a refusal to place a complaint against the Arab attackers, ignoring facts that prove the brothers’ innocence, ignoring the testimony of the security officer, admitting he was the only one who fired shots and alleviating the punishment for the security officer who admitted initiating the event, to refusing the delay of the process until a decision about pardon from the President is accepted, which is against protocol.

Security wise ­ The brothers acted according to army orders as part of their security duties in their community. In the time of the event there were a lot of terrorist acts in Gush Etzion, and Arab shepherds were considered a danger by the army. The Halamish brothers were called to prevent danger to the educational establishment of Sedeh Bar. The lack of support in the Halamish brothers from the IDF, the security system and the security system in Judea and Samaria endangers the whole security system in the frontier settlements. Amongst the supporters of the Halamish brothers are: Colonel Moshe Hager, chairman of the Mechinot association, Colonel Moshe Leshem, Colonel Yehoar Gal, Colonel Motti Yogev, Colonel Gadi Dor, and Lieutenant-Colonel Meir Indor.
