Friday in SHDEMA with Yossi Ben-Aharon on Yitzhak Shamir
With simultaneous translation into English ! Tell all English speakers!
Yossi Ben Aharon, who served as Director General in the Prime Minister’s Office when Yitzhak Shamir was Prime Minister, and had worked with him for 11 years, will talk about Yitzhak Shamir- his character, his personality, and how it was to work in the office of the most Erets Israel Prime Minister ever.
Yitzhak Shamir, one of the Lehi leaders, a politician, a Knesset member, a minister, the Likud leader and prime minister of Israel – worked for the aliya and absorption of immigrants from the Soviet Union and Ethiopia.
Yitzhak Shamir was the only one who opposed the Camp David agreements. It was at the time when he served as chairman of the Knesset and thus had an unusual courage to do so.
His policy was ideological rather than political: yes to Erets Israel- No to any compromise.
We all must come to hear this fascinating lecture- a lecture about bravery, determination and courage under pressure
The lecture will be in Hebrew with simultaneous translation into English.
Please forward to all lists of English speakers.
