The Women in Green movement welcomes the announcement today by the heads of the Land of Israel Lobby, MK Bezalel Smotrich and Yoav Kish, stating the Lobby’s intention to act in the current session of Knesset toward the application of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

The heads of the movement promoting the campaign for the application of sovereignty in recent years, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, note that the application of sovereignty in Ma’ale Adumim, a course of action that has won the sweeping support of 78 percent of the citizens of Israel, is the first step on the way in the overall process of application of Israeli sovereignty in all of Judea and Samaria.

They further note that in the next issue of the Sovereignty Journal, when MK Yoav Kish, head of the Land of Israel Lobby, is asked about promoting the process of sovereignty, he responds: “We are very, very active on this subject. We are dealing with many problems and the problem of sovereignty is one of the essential subjects that we are pushing forward. We are also dealing with the subject of the building freeze and the decrease of building in Judea and Samaria. We are now engaged in a battle to renew the building in Ma’ale Adumim; we are right now in the process of planning our course of action on the subject of sovereignty; it is the central focus of the Land of Israel Lobby and we are investigating how we will attack the subject during the next term”.

Kish explained that in the first year of the Land of Israel Lobby’s activism they needed a period to organize and unite in order to map out the support and the opposition in the political sphere, “but in the next session you will hear good news on this topic”, he promised, and now it is becoming clear that the first, welcome step that the Land of Israel Lobby has taken in the matter of application of sovereignty in Ma’ale Adumim is indeed the Lobby’s first good news  in this matter.
