Friday at OZ veGaon with Rabbanit Shulamit Melamed on the topic: Feminism and us

This coming Friday at Oz veGaon, 9:00 in the morning, G-d willing, we will host Rabbanit Shulamit Melamed.

Twenty seven years ago, on a Friday morning, the 10th of Heshvan 5759, October 30, 1998, this sentence was heard over Israeli airwaves: “This is Arutz 7 – experimental broadcast”.

The buds had already begun to take root several months before… the Israeli media was controlled by the Left during that period, and of course, it adopted their positions. It was Rabbanit Shulamit Melamed who dreamed that one day, a channel would arise that would give expression to the positions of the Right and the religious public.  But how to turn a dream into reality?

Back then, Abie Nathan’s radio station, The Voice of Peace, was broadcast from a ship. The first Israeli pirate radio station. Its broadcasts were carried out from a ship that was anchored opposite the Tel Aviv shore. The station, which was a strong advocate for “peace”, became a favorite of the Left; Israeli politicians did not hesitate to be interviewed by the station and the police did not take any action to stop the illegal broadcasts…

The Rabbanit decided that if Abie Nathan can do it, and have legitimacy, then we can too, so she presented the idea to her husband, Rabbi Zalman Baruch Melamed, head of Beit El Yeshiva. The rabbi, who at first rejected the idea, ultimately became convinced and mobilized his students, Yaakov Katz and Yoel Tsur for the project.

Rabbanit Melamed, who until then, had worked as an instructor, donned the manager’s cap and the rest is history – Rabbanit Melamed, with her breakthrough in the field of Zionist nationalist media, began a revolution.

Rabbanit Melamed will speak this coming Friday, the 4th of Sivan, June 10, at 9:00 am, on the surprising topic: Feminism and us.

The Rabbanit is resolute, clear and original.

A “must-hear” event!

The generation that has taken on a radical form of feminism – the Rabbanit Melamed stands with her finger in the dike.

A riveting talk – a morning not to be missed!
